Some reviews noted that the menu could feel limited to some diners, but many appreciate this focus on quality over quantity.

This restaurant is fantastic! We chose to come here as it was conveniently located for us that day but WOW what an amazing experience it was! Firstly the food is simply outstanding! The prices were very reasonable too but more to the point this was some of the best Italian food we have ever had in the UK (and in Italy to be honest!) The chef clearly knows his stuff and every single dish was excellent. My favourite two were the pear and gorgonzola bruschetta and the vodka tomato and ndujia pasta but every dish was amazing. We all kept trying each others as they came out. What was meant to be a quick and convenient lunch turned into a dining experience we won't forget. Our hosts were also fantastic and took care of us very well. Getting to chat with the chef at the end and hear that they make everything they can on site confirmed that this is a unique place not to be missed. Cannot wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. Highly recommend anyone who likes good food to come and try for yourself.

Another little gem of a restaurant that I didn't even know existed until a good old Google search for local Italian Restaurants. As some mention, no way would we have even known this was an Italian inspired restaurant and oh my, what a lovely birthday treat for my girlfriend this was. The warm welcome by the staff, possibly the owner, was polite and genuine. We felt the menu was not extensive which we actually prefer, in our opinion this often reflects quality over quantity which it most certainly did. We both thoroughly enjoyed the chosen dishes where both courses arrived after a perfectly acceptable time due to being home made and fresh to which we were not disappointed. No desserts on this occasion as we simply didn't need them after the starter & main course. We'll most certainly visit again ... thanks for a great end to her birthday day.

If you like Italian food, then you don't need to look any further than here. We booked a very early evening time slot on a saturday evening for 5.00pm. Thinking we would get there before the crowds. How wrong can you be? The car park was almost full. This is no more a hidden gem. It's shining in the spotlight and so pleased to see them doing so well. This is one of those very rare restaurants, where if you can't choose what to order you could just leave up to the chef to decide for you. The food is all so fresh and absolutely delicious. Even though they were busy, the service was spot on and friendly. Staff are totally on the ball and constantly checking on every table. If you are going to go,make sure you book!

Absolutely awesome food! Had high expectations from reading the reviews but did not disappoint. The leek and braised oxtail ravioli was one of the most delicious things I’ve had in a long time. Focaccia amazing too. Wonderful attentive but not overbearing service. Our waitress (not sure of her name but fairly young girl with ponytail) was great. We will definitely be back!

We visited The Carpenters Arms Italian Kitchen as two couples on a Friday night, drawn in by its great reputation – and the food absolutely lived up to it. We started with a few sharing starters, including a beautifully done bruschetta that was far from ordinary. Instead of the usual tomato topping, it came with pear, cheese, and hazelnuts – and honestly, it might be one of the best bruschettas we’ve ever had. We also had mussels, which were perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. For mains, I went for the homemade sausage pasta, while a couple of us chose the crab and prawn ravioli – both were excellent and clearly freshly made. The rustic chips were spot on too: crispy, golden, and dangerously moreish. We finished with a torta della nonna, which was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Service was a little on the slow side at times, and we did find ourselves waiting to get someone’s attention, which was a shame given how good the food was. That said, the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely – just a bit warm inside on the night we visited. Our bill came to £183 for the four of us, which we rounded up to £200, and we all agreed it was very reasonable considering how much food (and wine!) we’d had and the quality of everything. All in all, a really enjoyable evening – excellent Italian food, great value, and a lovely setting. We’ll definitely be back.
